Toyota FJ Remapping

🚩A brief review of FJ Cruiser:

The Toyota Fj Cruiser, a 44 which polarizes public opinion. As a matter of fact, It was very popular when it was revealed. And they are still selling like crazy now considering that they are weird and odd in people's opinion. These cars are fundamentally capable and talented, they have managed to push the aesthetic of 44 design forward while still paying tribute to  44’s of the past. The all-new Toyota FJ Cruiser was introduced in March 2006. A stylish and capable vehicle that drew from an incredible off-road heritage, which was Toyota's third entry in the mid-size SUV segment. The Fj Cruiser is actually based on the underpinnings of the Toyota Prado. But it is shorter and wider. Later Toyota updated the Fj Cruiser 2013, by fitting a larger fuel sub tank for greater driving range along with the crawl off-road cruise control system which is designed to assist drivers in navigating tricky terrain. It’s basically a control system that operates in low range and it replaced the downhill assist control. As for the distinguishing points of this car we refer to the doors which open in a funky manner and the problem is, if it's doing some serious off-roading, the body can flex and bend because it is not equipped with a car door middle column, there have been some reports of the body shell cracking down there. Another thing that took attention is its interior design. It is ageing gracefully and it’s a really funky design. All the plastics are pretty harsh but this is like a utilitarian off-roading monster and the harsh plastics are good because it’s easy to wipe clean. And also it has one of the most phallic gear knobs.

💬What goes wrong with Fj Cruiser mechanically?

The v6 petrol 1GRFE is a really good solid reliable unit. But compared to its Prado diesel cousins, “it is a bit thirsty” a technician said. They do have a few problems blowing head gaskets. But frequent coolant flush when specified, will definitely help with that. The transmission and the differentials are super strong. Furthermore, the suspension is definitely up to the task.

💬Appropriate programmers for Fortuner Remap:

• ALIENTECH

Kess, an Alientech Co.’s device, can be used to download VR through OBD. In this case, you should first study the ECU specs, then download the original file from the databank site, and finally, remap using the ECM TITANUM program. Then, when you have corrected Checksum, go ahead and write. You should use the 517 OBD protocol to download all of the engines specified for the 2nd facelift of first generation of Fortuner. Note that this programmer cannot read the ECU file, so choose the Original file carefully.

🚨NOTE: For downloading Toyota Fortuner file with 1GR engine, you need to choose Toyota FJ cruiser in menu.

• BIT BOX

One of the most powerful programmers for remapping Toyota Company products is the Bitbox programmer. For the engines described above, the Can GEN1 module should be included in this programmer. In addition, for the 1GR engine, a NewGEN can be given.

The bit edit supplement program allows you to remap the relevant tables.

• DIM SPORT

The dim sport tools For remapping of FJ Cruiser are New Genius (Protocol: FLASH_0555) for OBD and  New Trasdata (Plugin 779 / 957 / 959) in Pin Connections.
